2019 HIGHLIGHTS

This year, 2019 brought revelations in me as a person as quite a number of life’s challenges I had to go through. However, in-between heartbreaks and tears, there were laughs, good food, good company from friends and hope.

April 2019: Completed Junior High School curriculum and moved up to being a Senior High Student – though humbled to receive the awards, nonetheless what was satisfying to me as a student was that I was able to inspire few of my batchmates along the way.

April-May 2019: Bacolod and Dumaguete Trip – it was a memorable trip not only because I tried a variety of good food and delicacies - one of which is the amazing Felicia’s melting ensaymada with pure sikwati – went dining at Manokan Country and also because I learned new things about Philippine history as I was mesmerized by the Negros Museum, The Ruins, Mambukal Mountain Resort, Campuestohan Highland Resort and the warmth of the people they show to the non-Negrenses as if I felt that I am one of them and the simple life people displayed in those towns.

July 2019:  Transferred to a new educational institution , which helped me widen my perspective personally and concerning academics. True enough, I was a bit scared of entering a completely new world before deciding where to enroll for SHS, but I needed to take that leap in order to bring out my potential. In the beginning, culture shock set in but few weeks later I was able to adjust and went with the flow.

August 2019:  My dearest Lola went home to heaven after battling cervical cancer for years. I considered her my best ally. I am grateful that my Lola has been with me for most of my growing years and honestly?? I've been missing her terribly until now. But life continues so to speak.

AYC 2019 : Privileged to be a part of the event as I renewed my faith, fed my soul through songs and learned new values as well. I somehow reflected on what matters in life.

December 2019: officially 18 #eighTINE ( story in another blog )

At the end of it all, I am continuously learning and do not have any regrets at all. In the coming year, I would like to enjoy my present so that I am able to ponder and plan for my future. I will not totally forget the past as whatever happened in the past made me who I am today.

Praying for a prosperous and healthy 2020

To God be the Glory!

Sincerely, K
